Azimut has fitted the new American `Cummins' 370hp Common Rail engines for the first time o­n the 40' which are able to guarantee a maximum speed of 31
knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots. The engines are eco-compatible, conform to gas emissions IMO regulations, are quieter and compared to performance with other engines, consume much less. The h-drive installation allows the engine room to be further aft thus creating more space for the cabins.

The helm is accessed by a central telescopic gangway and has steps to the right which lead down to the stern platForm where the tender may be positioned.
