HISWA Association engages new Export Manager

From 1 August 2004, Farouk Nefzi (36) will be the new Export Manager of HISWA Association. From this position, he will also manage the team of HISWA Holland Yachting Group, a joint venture that focuses on the collective promotion of manufacturers and suppliers of Dutch water sport products abroad. Besides promoting an entirely new sector, Farouk Nefzi will take on the challenge, of promoting export interests and stimulating water sport companies with international aspirations. "Farouk Nefzi acquired considerable experience in the water sport and maritime industry in his last job at Amsterdam RAI, as he was responsible as Senior Productmanager for the exhibitions Mets and Europort. We are happy with his transfer to HISWA Association. His knowledge, experience and extensive network are not only kept within the sector, but will certainly contribute to further successfully positioning our quickly growing industry", said André Vink, Managing director of HISWA Association.

HISWA Holland Yachting Group is part of HISWA Association and it now mainly focuses on the promotion of the 60 affiliated Dutch manufacturers and suppliers abroad, such as Feadship, Royal Huisman Shipyard and Imtech. This is realised by organising collective exhibitions participations in, for example, Monaco and Fort Lauderdale, trade missions and annual press trips for foreign journalists. HISWA Association has further increased its ambition level in respect to the far-reaching internationalisation of the water sport industry and the as yet ndeveloped
opportunities in China and especially within Europe. It wants to intensively support a total of more than 1,100 affiliated companies within the scope of pursuing international business. This means that a more extensive service package, as well as promotion activities, are offered to companies in the water sport sector that want to trade with companies abroad. The expanded service package includes providing advice on new markets, foreign legislation, subsidy possibilities, etc. and HISWA will thereby act as the export information desk for the maritime
and water sport sector. "This ambition of HISWA Association fits in with the government's efforts to stimulate 'across-border' business activities and we, of course, also take advantage of this as modern outward-looking industry", said Vink.

Farouk Nefzi succeeds Henk van Laar who managed HISWA Holland Yachting Group for 5 years. Henk van Laar has decided to continue his career as freelance consultant.
