“Convergence”, the prestigious training course for Ferretti Group

“Convergence”, the prestigious training course for Ferretti Group Captains has proved to be a huge success for the third year running “Convergence”, the Master for Captains organised by the Ferretti Group is now in its third year.

Owing to its past successes, the exclusive training appointment has now been doubled and organised as two separate events, namely ‘Convergence 2006’, reserved for captains of yachts max. 24 metres which took place from 20th to 23rd March; and ‘Convergence Navi’, for Captains of yachts over 24 metres, starting today, April 5th, to 7th April.
Convergence 2006 was held in Rimini, a town chosen for the fact it is more central than some of the Group’s most important boatyards. The four-day seminar, which combined theory with technical experience, was even more effective this year owing to visits to the Pershing (Mondolfo) and Ferretti Yachts (Cattolica) boatyards.

Andrea Frabetti, Vice President of the Ferretti Group’s Engineering Division, coordinated the technical speeches, significant moments of the Convergence master, particularly those of MTU, ZF, BCS, Radiomarine and Rolla. These companies decided to take on a double role at this year’s event, acting as both protagonists and sponsors. They dealt tangibly with the technical issues of managing a motoryacht and, judging by the number of participants at this year’s "Convergence” (approximately 100), this approach is one of its success factors.
The Captains also enjoyed the visits to the Ferretti Yachts and Pershing boatyards.
The latest innovations of the two brands were presented during these visits, and aroused great enthusiasm.
Lastly, participants assisted a training speech dealing with on board and boating style made by an important management training school, as well as speeches by Ucina and Viareggio Fucina on the use of yachts for commercial aims and the new professions linked to pleasure boating.

Although the four days were demanding, they were also great fun, and the
considerable number of participants – all of whom were presented with the
prestigious Master certificate - and their obvious satisfaction are tangible proof of the effectiveness of this event. Besides reaffirming the importance of the Ferretti Group on the international panorama of designing and building luxury motoryachts, it gives the company an extraordinary opportunity to guarantee its clients a continuous relationship offering high quality services and attention.

The Ferretti Group, managed by Chairman Norberto Ferretti, Vice-Chairman Giancarlo Galeone and Chief Executive Officer Gabriele del Torchio, encompasses Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Apreamare, Mochi Craft, Custom Line and CRN.
It currently employs a staff of over 2,500, excluding side-line businesses, and boasts a surface area (covered and open-air) of over 673,000 m2. The company has 19 production units in Italy, 2 in Spain and 1 in the United States, and registered a consolidated turnover of 636 million Euros on 31st August 2005, a 14% increase compared with the 557 million registered for the previous financial year.
