The New Azimut 47’ Fly Bridge
A totally original fusion of contemporary elegance, comfort and freedom – designed by Stefano Righini.
The new model, developed and constructed in the Azimut shipyards in Avigliana, will be unveiled at the forthcoming Genoa International Boat Show.
The new 47’ is the latest stylistic development from Stefano Righini for the Azimut Fly Bridge range, with its characteristic superstructure windows, the skilful harmony of its dimensions and muscles and the overall dynamism that gives the impression of movement even when still. The same elegance characterises the interior, where Carlo Galeazzi has developed a formal linear and modern architectural style with sophisticated details and high quality materials.
The generous volume of the hull and the innovative layout inside – unheard of on a craft in this category - guarantees guests aboard the 47’ an unrivalled level of comfort that is not just limited to the living space.
On board the new 47’ comfort means freedom: a cascade of light below decks allows the owner and guests direct contact with the sea and sky thanks to the more than ample windows throughout the boat. The external layout
The ample fly bridge that extends aft and completely shelters the cockpit accommodates – amongst other things – a helm with a complete range of instruments, a large seating area that extends from aft to fore, an ingenious table enriched with elements in teak that incorporates a refrigerator, a barbecue and a drawer for cooking utensils.
The sofa in the cockpit conceals the stairway leading down to the crew cabin that can alternatively be used as a large storage area for various accessories including a washer/dryer.
The foredeck, accommodating a comfortable sunbathing area, is wide and squared off to increase the size of the master cabin. The characteristic trapezoidal windows amidships provide plenty of light in both guest cabins as well as giving Azimut’s newest creation a particularly distinctive look. The Main Deck
The comfortable saloon – illuminated by one of the widest windows – is fitted with sofas that have built-in compartments underneath to increase the storage capacity aboard, a dining table and a second dinette next to the helm. The second dinette – one of the elements making the layout on the new 47’ particularly original – has two small sofas and a folding table, for those who want to follow the sailing next to the command post. The helm – fitted with an adjustable seat for two – is equipped with a full array of navigational instruments, ergonomically distributed on the dash and ceiling. The Lower Deck
The original and intelligent use of interior space is what makes the layout of the new 47’ unique. Three cabins, all with floor level berths, the two bathrooms and the galley are all located on the lower deck and have no negative effect on the general proportions of the boat and its streamlined external lines.
The master cabin is positioned fore and receives light from the wide horizontal opening windows. The bed is in the centre of the cabin, with drawers underneath and a large storage area that can be easily accessed thanks to a pneumatic piston system that raises the mattress base. There are also two wardrobes in the cabin and further storage space for clothes in lockers over the windows.
The two guest cabins are amidships – each a mirror version of the other – both furnished with two single twin beds. The starboard cabin can be set up with either a double or two single beds, thanks to a convenient system that allows one of the beds to slide against the other to create a double berth. Both bathrooms, one reserved for the master suite, can be found on the starboard side and have a large 90 cm round shower.
The galley is an ample and intelligently arranged area, directly lit from above through the windshield. The fittings include a practical worktop, a large stainless steel sink, a three-burner hob with an extractor hood, a microwave oven, a 6.7 cubic feet refrigerator and space for a dishwasher. Overhead lockers, drawers and a stowage area under the floor that can be used as a food store or somewhere to tidy away the cockpit chairs completes the standard fittings in an area where everything is designed with functionality in mind. The interior designThe interior design of the new 47’ is a clear reflection of rationality – the linearity of the forms, the abundance of available seating and storage space and the elegance in the choice of materials and finishes. An unusual and bright décapé oak has been used for the furnishings and the panelling in the ceilings, while elegant inserts in cognac-coloured leather characterize the tops of the furniture, the doors, the beds and the sofa bases. In the two bathrooms, where sliding mirrored doors conceal convenient wall storage space, the basins are in cognac-coloured cold glass and light is filtered through a backlit fabric veil. The décor fabrics are offered in light-coloured natural fibres, and owners who want to personalise their boat can choose from an array of approximately 150 fabrics from Azimut’s Classic, Exclusive and Prestige décor ranges.
