Itama turns the spotlight on the Rome International Film Fest. 23 October 2006 - Itama has recently played the important role of official sponsor at the first edition of Cinema. Festa Internazionale di Roma, an event held from 13-21 October at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. For nine days the Auditorium was transformed into a magnificent citadel of film with a very special guest star, the Itama Forty, a beautiful almost forty feet open yacht.
Itama’s participation at the Rome Film Fest comes from a clear desire of the boatyard, now based in the Marches, to link the valuable identity of a company which made history in the world of Italian open yachts, to the world of the big screen, in the sense of an artistic style that has played a big part in making Italian Style so popular worldwide. An unmistakeable tradition not only in the film industry but also in the world of sailing, proven by the endurance and highly contemporary feel of the timeless design of these famous motoryachts with their distinctive blue hull, white deck, simple, streamlined contours: a timeless classic for the true open yacht enthusiast. Situated next to the entrance of the Auditorium, designed by Renzo Piano, and right at the heart of the event, was an Itama booth, starring the Itama Forty, one of the models in the boatyard’s exciting new range. This extremely fast open yacht that can reach speeds of up to 35 knots, has both great appeal and class. Characterized by the unmistakeable blue hull and white deck combination that made Itama famous in the Dolce Vita époque, these yachts were one of the icons that epitomized the jet-set style of locations such as the Amalfi and Emerald Coasts. The Rome Film Fest was a quality event, chosen for its links with the world and image of Itama and the shipyard could not miss this chance to support a tribute to cinema in the Italian city that best represents it. This is why it signed a special agreement to make it the exclusive marine sponsor of the event. Itama’s involvement materialised in one of the most important events on the packed calendar of this Roman festival: The Business Street. At this “event-within-an-event”, Via Veneto, traditionally “the” street of international cinema, was transformed into an exciting venue for exclusive encounters, buzzing with life and top celebrities in a fast-paced climate where you can soak up the atmosphere or exchange ideas. Via Veneto is one of the icons of Rome’s Dolce Vita, becoming famous during the 1960s thanks to its luxury hotels and historic cafés. This symbolic, multi-faceted street, a strip of three hundred metres in the historic heart of Rome stretching from Piazza Barberini to Villa Borghese was the main stage and behind-the-scenes setting for the film industry and Rome itself. All the stars of that decade flocked here: actors, aristocrats, writers, artists, politicians and millions of tourists who return to pay a visit on their trips to Rome. An incredibly vibrant, appealing location, taking you along with Itama on an intense journey towards a wonderful scene: the immortal legend of La Dolce Vita. Itama and the cinema make a perfect combination: pictures, emotions, stories and atmospheres of the collective unconscious, unique, inimitable icons, lifestyles, eras, passions.
The Itama Forty, with its unmistakeable timeless style and distinctive Itama elegance welcomed the public for the whole of the event in front of the entrance to the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
