Pershing 64’. The new way of taking the future by surprise.

“To surprise the future”. In a nutshell this is the formula that has guided the creation of the Pershing 72’, a craft that embodies the most advanced expression of the new innovation concept championed by a shipyard that has become a symbol of “Made in Italy” yachting.

The same idea is at the root of the design and construction of the new Pershing yacht, currently being prepared for unveiling in Spring 2008. This 64-footer, designed for a market segment that is as important as it is competitive, boasts highly original features usually found o­nly in megayachts. The craft is a direct heir of the fleet’s 62-footer, but is distinguished by the aggressive, streamlined style typical of the philosophy and product innovation concept recently introduced by the shipyard. The new Pershing 64’ therefore represents an authentic revolution in terms of style and functionality, and its many unique features include an elongated, singlepane side window that gives the craft’s structure a particularly sleek appeal, as well as making the spacious saloon and helm station area much brighter.

This is a boat designed for those who don’t accept compromises and who love the comfort, space and luxury of flybridge craft, and the excitement of aggressive open yacht contours and sports style performance.

This unique combination of values and characteristics has o­nce again been made possible by the unconventional imagination of Fulvio De Simoni, the yacht designer who has always succeeded in capturing the spirit that drives the shipyard and President Tilli Antonelli in

every new project. Like Antonelli, De Simoni is always o­nly too willing to accept the challenge of breaking new ground and moving forward the frontiers of yachting with style and flair.

The Pershing 64’ has an ambitious design that stands out the minute you set eyes o­n the saloon. This area is the fulcrum of life o­n board and can be completely closed and air conditioned to achieve the luxury and privacy of a sophisticated lounge. Alternatively, thanks to an exclusive slideaway glass door separating the internal saloon from the external cockpit, the whole area can be opened up to the sky. This solution enables the Pershing 64’ to surpass traditional open yacht limits by locating the saloon and cockpit o­n the same level and creating a unique level of continuity between the outside and inside of the craft. Here, the sensation is the same as that of standing o­n a huge terrace overlooking the sea and to intensify

the feeling even further, the craft is fitted with the shipyard’s latest generation hard top that at the simple touch of a button, slides back to adjust the degree of shade in the cockpit.

This feature endows the model with an unimaginable level of liveability and spatial flexibility, The saloon also offers numerous other prestigious and highly versatile features to be enjoyed throughout the day. Elegance and an incredible sense of space are the criteria behind all the furnishings and fittings, which include a large horseshoe-shaped sofa, a folding table, slideaway TV and cabinet, a comfy lounger o­n the port side and the helm station o­n the right. The helm zone is the jewel in the crown of the craft. The pilot and co-pilot seats have been specially designed and made by Poltrona Frau, to guarantee a perfect ergonomic posture and ultimate comfort even during long cruises and in rough seas. Pershing and Frau designers have

worked painstakingly together to perfect every detail of the area with carefully studied features, such as shorter armrests to suit the pilot’s sitting posture, an insistence o­n o­nly top quality leather and varying densities of padding to ensure that the seats are always perfectly comfortable.

Moving outside you can find all the advantages usually offered o­nly by larger yachts, such as the double stairway accessing the spacious cockpit. This area includes a barbecue unit,

fridge, L-shaped sofa, and a folding teak table. The vast central sundeck also features a huge hidden hangar that can store a tender up to 3.25m long (or a jet ski). The tender is launched using the stowaway telescopic gangway that doubles as a crane.

The walkways for reaching the fore sundeck are particularly wide and designed to make moving around the boat easy and totally safe. The crew cabin (complete with its own WC and shower) can be reached from the cockpit.

Returning inside you can enjoy a whole series of revolutionary solutions resulting from a visionary layout that has located the galley o­n an intermediate level so it communicates

directly with the upper saloon. This brilliant idea leaves the area below decks free to become a luxurious night zone with cabins of an exceptional size for this category. A genuine stroke of genius that removes the dilemma of where to put the galley. This is usually resolved in 60-70 foot craft by squeezing it in between the cabins or sometimes even by relegating it to an inaccessible position below decks. This solution is unsuitable as it is usually adopted in larger boats where the crew are responsible for preparing meals. In the Pershing 64’, o­n the other hand, the galley is located in a more convenient position, as well boasting a splendidly

ergonomic work area and comprehensive fittings and equipment, including an 8 person dishwasher, stainless steel sink, 4 ring glass ceramic hob, combined microwave oven, and fridge and freezer column. The overall result is a practical, convivial environment that allows the owner to entertain in comfort and mingle with guests while preparing an aperitif or even a whole dinner.

The Master Cabin is a real full beam suite. It is beautifully furnished with a central berth, lounger, vanity unit, flat screen TV, and a spacious entrance area fitted with a particularly large wardrobe, mini-bar and a handy set of drawers located underneath the lounger. Light plays a major role in this environment as it streams in from two large open-view windows situated o­n separate walls.

These windows offer breathtaking views of vast seascapes directly at wave level. The deliberate choice of light colours and natural tones in the oak, leather and fabric finishings

intensify still further the airy brightness of the room. The bathroom has the same airy spaciousness, this time enhanced by a contemporary style of tastefully minimalist design.

Moving further along towards the bows we come to the starboard guest cabin featuring twin berths, an en-suite bathroom and separate shower. The VIP cabin is also situated in the ows.

This luxurious environment, furnished with a full double berth and spacious wardrobes, boasts dimensions that compare with those of the Master Cabin o­n normal yachts of this size.

But the Pershing 64’ not o­nly has the class of a large yacht, it also has the power. With its twin 1550 hp MAN engines and Arneson ASD 14L drives, the craft can reach peak speeds of over 45 knots, demonstrating its remarkably high standards of performance, stability and handling.
