The new Itama Sixty has been successfully launched. Managers at the Itama Engineering Department and AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) of Ferretti S.p.A., in partnership with yacht designer Marco Casali (responsible for the boatyard’s entire range), have created a vessel that is the natural evolution of the Itama FiftyFive.
The result is an open yacht with a decidedly sporty feel, whose strength lies in its powerful performance.
KEYWORD: PERSONALITY
This 18.82 metre long fibreglass yacht is equipped with a high power drive system, consisting of twin 1550hp MAN engines and surface propellers that guarantee effortless cruising even at a speed of 48 knots. This outstanding level of performance is guaranteed by the craft’s famous 20° deep “V” hull. This feature, that is one of the shipyard’s most distinctive hallmarks, offers unparalleled handling thanks to the boat’s even higher bows and sleekly, slim stern. The decision to use surface propellers also makes the drive system more efficient compared to shaft drive systems and therefore ensures improved performance with the same degree of power. Last but not least, the hull lamination process adopted for the Itama Sixty has been enhanced by the use of Aramid fibres that make the craft even more robust and stable when cruising, even at high speeds.
A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
The new Sixty is a continuation of the direction taken by Itama with great success in recent years, as the company has concentrated on ideas that really make the most of the available space. on-board liveability, the optimisation of interior and exterior space, and the feeling of freedom during navigation are the distinctive traits of this yacht.
The first thing you notice is the spacious cockpit which not only has a large sunbathing area but also incorporates an open air pull-out table and a comfortable sofa next to the cockpit area complete with front-facing seats and chaise-longue.
The glass windshield – an important stylistic and technological detail typical of Itama vessels – not only gives added rake to the boat’s profile, but also creates total protection inside the cockpit without reducing direct contact with the sea. Hi-tech and sophisticated the choice of having dashboard and the helm made from carbon. The electrohydraulic canopy, successfully introduced on the FiftyFive, will stand up to any weather conditions. Offering total protection of the dinette when closed, it can be opened so that passengers can fully appreciate life onboard the yacht. Getting the most out of your boat also means appreciating all of its functions, and in this regard the Itama Sixty has an interesting new feature compared to the FiftyFive, reflecting the constant search for solutions designed to increase onboard comfort. There is a central walkway on the transom which acts as a tender lift for easy handling of the jet ski or tender. Last but not least, the engine room can also be reached very easily with two entrances, one from the cockpit and the other from the crew cabin.
EXPERIENCE THE SEA IN STYLE
Apart from the classic layout of the interior, what is instantly apparent is the meticulous styling and carefully-selected materials used in the strikingly contemporary interior. The shipyard has chosen to focus its attention on the owner by providing two choices of below-deck finish: the warmth and elegance of walnut or, on demand, white lacquer, for an airier, maritime feel.
The standard layout of the Itama Sixty comprises 3 cabins and 3 en-suite bathrooms, plus a convenient kitchen diner. The crew cabin is optional and features an entirely new design compared to the FiftyFive, to make way for the propulsion units. It has a separate stern entry guaranteeing maximum privacy onboard, and of course there is direct access to the engine room through the watertight door.
Below deck, the excellent liveability of the interior is immediately perceptible when you enter the airy dinette with its C-shaped settee, facing the state-of-the-art kitchen, fully equipped to ensure maximum comfort onboard. With an upright fridge, four-ring hob and a oven there’s no room for nostalgic thoughts of your kitchen at home. Another feature worthy of note is the sophisticated pairing of materials, which range from the white quarzite of the kitchen counter top, to the polished white crystal used to trim the wooden peninsula.
The master cabin is in the traditional position at the bow, while the guest cabins at full beam are large and spacious with comfortably-sized wardrobes, soft carpeting and sophisticated touches of leather enhancing the frame and upholstery of the bulkhead.
All cabins have their own en-suite bathrooms with a convenient stall shower and floors finished in elegant teak, a harmonious contrast to the predominantly light tones of the interior. The bathroom of the master cabin is further enhanced by a beautifully designed wall mosaic in the stall shower, so the owner can choose the colour scheme they like best, which is further evidence of the many ways in which the customer can customise this craft. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the interior is enhanced by the use of natural woods such as the wengè stairs leading to the dinette or the black walnut on the interior trim. The elegant choice of leather paired with the steel detailing achieves the perfect balance between style and practicality.
Great performance, a racing spirit and elegantly customised interior are qualities that make the new Itama Sixty an avant garde design that perfectly combines power and unbridled contact with the sea. An experience that only an Itama open yacht can give you.
