THE FERRETTI GROUP CELEBRATESITS PASSION FOR BOATING BYPRESENTING AN IMPRESSIVE FLEET OF 50 YACHTSAT THE 49th INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW IN GENOA5 new models, of which 2 world and 3 Italian previews, presented at a 7,000m² stand of unique proportions and prestige Genoa, October 2nd 2009 – The Ferretti Group, one of the world leaders in the design, construction, and marketing of motoryachts encompassing a unique portfolio of some of the most exclusive brands in the nautical world, is presenting an impressive fleet of 50 yachts, including 2 world and 3 Italian previews, at the 49th International Boat Show in Genoa, running from October 3rd to 11th.
Displayed in the ‘Piazzale Marina 1 scoperto’ area of the boat show at a 7,000m² stand of unique size and prestige, the yachts are the result of the Ferretti Group’s commitment, devotion, tangibility and R&D, which best represent its prestigious portfolio of 9 brands. Thus, the Ferretti Group, once again, reinforces its deep commitment to quality, elegance and technological innovation. These fundamental values have always characterized the history of a Group, which has been passionately interpreting and satisfying the needs of an increasingly better prepared and demanding clientele for over 40 years. The Ferretti Group is presenting 5 new models at the International Boat Show in Genoa, of which 2 world previews – Ferretti 740 and Itama Fifty – and 3 Italian previews – Ferretti 560, Bertram 540 and Riva 86’ Domino. ”The Ferretti Group’s participation at the International Boat Show in Genoa is always an emotional experience for me, as it was here that my adventure in the nautical world began 41 years ago. Our presence in Genoa this year, with an impressive 50 yachts, is immensely important. It shows the continuous attention we pay to our clients, to whom we offer a vast range of products, which vary one from the other, but are united by a continuous quest for quality and innovation,” declared Norberto Ferretti, Ferretti Group Chairman and Founder. “The boats displayed in Genoa make me even prouder of the results achieved, reinforcing the huge commitment with which my team and I have faced the challenges that have characterized the nautical industry over the past few months.”“I am increasingly proud of having joined the Ferretti Group and, after Cannes and Montecarlo, to find myself here in Genoa, at an event which has always been the highlight of the autumn boat shows,” commented Salvatore Basile, Ferretti Group Chief Executive Officer. “Our strategic choices shall be in line with the characteristics, which have always distinguished us: top quality products, an excellent before and after sales assistance service offered to owners as well as a wide range of smart, technologically innovative yachts equipped with top of the range comforts. Moreover, our Group has a close knit team and I believe these are the characteristics which will continue to prove our strength”.Furthermore, the Ferretti Group recently celebrated one of the most important moments in its history: the launch of a new yacht, CRN "Clarena 2". Measuring 72 metres in length, she is the largest pleasure yacht the Group has ever built, and one of the most impressive ever to be produced in Italy. The result of strong teamwork and CRN’s innovative spirit, “Clarena 2”, characterized by creativity and cutting edge technology, is the symbol of the shipyard’s ability to forsee and satisfy the needs of a demanding clientele that is pleased to have chosen a Ferretti Group yacht. With the aim of taking action to strengthen the synergies of a Group, which encompasses 9 of the most famous, historical brands on the international pleasure boating panorama and boasts the most advanced skills within the sphere of naval design and research, the Ferretti Group recently launched a project common to two brands - CRN and Riva – for the production of a new line of yachts measuring 50 to 80 metres. This new collection, that will be inspired by the current Riva range, of which it represents the ideal continuation, shall be designed as a fleet of the future where CRN and Riva’s natural inclination for innovation are combined with continuous attention to timeless design. The new yachts shall be designed by Mauro Micheli who, with Officina Italiana Design, has designed the entire Riva range to date. The first project of the new collection, a 68 metre yacht with clean lines, was presented as a world preview at the 19th Monaco Yacht Show and will be followed by the launch of a 50 metre yacht, the second model of the range.THE 2 YACHTS PRESENTED IN GENOA AS WORLD PREVIEWS: Ferretti 740 A result of the cooperation between the Ferretti Group’s Advanced Yacht Technology and Studio Zuccon International Project, the Ferretti 740 is a yacht with a strong personality, created for an owner who wants spacious interiors with a design and decor with predominantly warm tones and valuable materials, wide open exposure to natural light and innovative solutions like the new design of the hull-windows for natural brilliance in the interiors. A yacht featuring a tendency towards classical design, but with smart, and contemporary stylistic touches, the result of the passionate technical and aesthetic research carried out by the shipyard to create a product of Italian-made excellence; a master of elegance that cruises the sea. The exterior profile of Ferretti 740 is sleek and streamlined, thanks to the graphic lines of the windows, which almost completely cover the main deck and feature a succession of sinuous curves and straight lines, much like the three “branchial shark” windows that make the boat a true representation of the sea and its elements. In addition to the open view windows of the owner’s cabin, two new hull-side windows have been added including an oval-shaped window, with two portholes, and an additional wide window at bow, which features a porthole that can be opened, both of which have been designed to enhance the presence of natural light in every guest area of the yacht. The wide salon of Ferretti 740, which maintains the structural line of the previous model, Ferretti 731, but features a new layout, is immersed in natural light and offers a cozy atmosphere created by the sumptuous tones of the materials selected for the furniture as well as the bleached walnut used onboard Ferretti yachts for the first time. The interior has been designed to create separate areas – living and dining area – while maintaining harmonious continuity of space and an uninterrupted view of the seas ahead. Itama Fifty The final look of the new 50-footer was achieved by combining extreme precision and creativity, thanks to a cooperation which involved Marco Casali, the architect responsible for the design of the new Itama craft, Itama’s Engineering Department and Ferretti Group’s AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) division. Like the other yachts in the new Itama line, the overall aim was to develop certain aspects of it, while maintaining the immaculate harmony that distinguishes each of the crafts in the Itama fleet. The result is a modern 50-footer with a distinctively sporty character, which fits perfectly between the Forty and the FiftyFive models and offers an original, ideal combination of day-cruiser and open yacht. It can host up to 12 people comfortably and reach speeds of up to 34 knots, powered by twin MAN 800 hp engines. What makes this craft particularly special, however, is her ability to offer an ideal balance between sporty sea performance and ultimate comfort. The spacious stern sundeck, specifically designed to maximize daytime liveability to the fullest, leads onto a cockpit that features a typical Itama layout with classical control panel and horseshoe-shaped sofa to the fore of the sundeck. Noticeably, the size of the Itama Fifty cockpit is only slightly smaller if compared with larger open yachts. The sofa is particularly special, as it can be transformed into a comfortable, forward-facing co-pilot seat. Furthermore, in order to achieve special privacy and comfort, a classical Itama design has been restyled with specially designed solutions that guarantee the ultimate cruising comfort and an even more luxurious onboard lifestyle. Following this same approach, the internal layout has also been completely redesigned with the VIP cabin returned to its classic Itama position at stern. This sets the craft apart from the other models in the shipyard’s new fleet, by presenting owners with original space optimization solutions and distinctively refined fittings. These range from high ceilings in all three cabins to white painted oak, a wood which gives Itama Fifty a style, which is easily recognizable for the architecture and colors of the Mediterranean islands. THE 3 YACHTS PRESENTED IN GENOA AS ITALIAN PREVIEWS: Ferretti 560 Ferretti Yachts introduces Ferretti 560, a model that represents the “yacht (r)evolution”, which was conceived to enable owners to experience a new kind of life on board. With this new model, the shipyard aims to consolidate and continue the evolution process of the flybridge range under 63 feet. Over the past two years, this renewal has involved the launch of new yachts that have become “icons” of innovation in design, such as Ferretti 470, Ferretti 510 and Ferretti 592. Result of the working relationship between Ferretti Group’s Advanced Yacht Technology and Studio Zuccon International Project, Ferretti 560 embodies all of the shipyard’s precious elements of design tradition with a new evolution that is distinguished in three key-elements: innovative space-design of the lower deck layout ; painstaking care over detail featured in contemporary style décor elements; and a new, exclusive window design that enhances natural light on board.
As a result, Ferretti 560 is a unique yacht in her category, created to meet the demands of clients of any age, while offering the highest standards of liveability through a combination of wide spaces, fine quality materials, comfort and performance. The position of the galley at stern has made it possible to create an all-in-one open space connecting cockpit-galley and salon in order to optimize liveability. Great attention has been paid to the area below deck. The master cabin has been positioned in the center of the yacht, covering the total width of the hull, and is lit by two large open-view windows. The master head has a separate shower and large window and portholes that can easily open. For the other guests on board, Ferretti 560 offers a double cabin in the bow with head, and a twin cabin with a dual-access head. Ferretti 560 has been conceived with a contemporary design and decor style. Painstaking care has been taken over detail, maintaining a perfect balance between the functionality and style research of the materials to achieve a highly elegant result. The bleached oak wood enhances the brightness of the spaces featuring refined color contrasts created by the warm tones of the details in wood or leather, such as the ceiling coverings, bed-perimeter, curtain-case or headboard decorations that mix lights and materials. Ferretti 560 features twin MAN V8-900 engines, which drive the yacht to a cruising speed of 28 knots anda top speeds of 32 knots. Bertram 540 The new 540 maintains many of the standout features of the classic 54’, but introduces a sleek shearline and other progressive features that strengthen its true performance. The new design is the product of a successful collaboration between the creativity of Ferretti Group, the innovative engineers and designers at Zuccon International Project, Bertram and Ferretti Group’s AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology), all of which paid close attention to client needs in the design process. The result was a sport fishing yacht that delivers ultimate steadfast performance and sea keeping ability combined with the ultra luxury and comfort of a cruising yacht. Fully equipped with optional twin CAT C-32, 1676hp engines, the new 540 can reach a top speed of up to 42 knots with a cruising speed of up to 36 knots. Undoubtedly, the most striking new feature is the forward wrap around window that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding waters and allows for an incredible amount of natural light to shine through the interior of the yacht. The ambiance created from these windows and open salon layout provides a unique experience for entertaining on the open water. Port and starboard stateroom windows also lend to enhance the natural light and provide exquisite views of the sea. These state of the art windows are constructed with multiple layers of glass and are both tested and designed exclusively by Ferretti Group’s AYT. The hull side windows are actually reinforced directly into the fibreglass, contributing to the overall hull strength so it can hold up to the roughest sport-fishing conditions. The open view layout of the new 540 is radiant with eucalyptus wood as an option and white oak as the standard, which provides elegant richness and enhances the natural light entering the salon. The galley area features a beautiful open bar area to facilitate movement between the salon and the cockpit entry way for an open entertaining and dining experience. An innovative, retractable aft cockpit window, which recedes down into the bulkhead for easy pass through of drinks and food was also added between the cockpit and the galley. This cutting-edge Bertram embraces the traditional mold of sport fish design and enhances the way to experience sport fishing. Riva 86’ Domino Some products are developed with the precise aim of carrying out a function. Others go far beyond this. Riva’s new 86’ Domino is one of these. The clean, winning lines of this 26 metre open, designed as usual by Mauro Micheli and his team at Officina Italiana Design, will immediately impress anyone who lays their eyes on her for the first time. Her well-balanced beauty is shown in her special personality, through which the aggressiveness that characterizes all Riva opens transpires. This model is enhanced by the new Metallic Ice colored hull and deckhouse, creating a spectacular, high-impact effect. Designed mainly for owners who love sporty lines that in no way affect the yacht’s style, the new Riva 86’ Domino is an evolution of the 63’ Vertigo and 68’ Ego Super models. Guests can enjoy much more space and a number of different areas for socializing, characteristics which make this yacht ideal for both long cruises and daily life on board. The sundeck is perfectly integrated into the upper part of the deckhouse, so that it cannot be perceived from the outside. It features a second steering position, ideal for mooring manoeuvres and a sun-pad with a reclining back, which can accommodate 3 guests. The closed, air-conditioned upper salon, creates an open space area with the dinette and is separated from the helm station by a large LCD television. This solution guarantees the passage of natural light, both through the large side windows and the windshield, fully highlighting this area. The special design of the large window intermingled with the full beam master cabin, which is located amidships, follows the surfaces of the hull, further integrating into it perfectly and ensuring as much light as possible in this area. The VIP cabin, with en-suite head, is located at bow with two twin-bedded guest cabins with en-suite heads that are located between this and the master cabin. The portside guest cabin also features a system of sliding beds on tracks that allows it to transform it into a second, double-bedded cabin. Fitted with twin 2435 hp MTU engines and a fully-equipped system to control all on board functions, Riva’s new 86’ Domino guarantees an excellent performance in total comfort, reaching a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots.
