From 1 to 9 October 2011, thanks to the 51st edition of the International Boat Show, Genoa will once more be the reference location for the boating sector worldwide.
With its 1,300 participating exhibitors and over 2,000 boats on display, Genoa Boat Show represents an important challenge for the entire boating industry, especially against the current economic scenario, and bears witness to the strength of one of the best-performing sectors of Made in Italy production and to its firm will to keep investing and start recovering. The Show, however, has always been not just a magnificent showcase, but also an important opportunity to take stock of current policies regulating this sector as well as a vital market indicator. This is mainly the result of the rich calendar of conferences, workshops and round tables organised by the Italian boating industry's professional association, where this year too institutions, policy-makers, business operators and opinion leaders will meet to discuss and share views on the most strategic topics. Over the last few months the Show’s organisers have worked extremely hard to develop new, significant projects, aiming not only to offer operators and visitors alike a complete overview of the best products the market can offer worldwide, but also to promote pleasure boating amongst new and larger consumer groups, and to involve the whole hosting city. This year, for the first time ever, the Show will exceptionally remain open until 10.30 pm on its opening day. Then, throughout its nine days, it will go hand in hand with an unprecedented programme of events taking place outside the fairground: GenovaInBlu - a virtual itinerary that will connect the Show to Genoa’s throbbing heart. Another important event will make its debut at the Show this year: Genoa International Boating Forum - an international round table chaired by an important journalist of the Financial Times, which will be held on Tuesday 4October 2011 starting at 10.30 am and will offer all leading players of the world’s boating industry a unique opportunity to meet and share their experience.
