Things to Do and See in Genoa During the Boat Show
Besides the “GenovaInBlu” set  of parallel events,  many other initiatives  will take place in Genoa during the nine days of the 51 st International Boat Show,
from Saturday 1 st to Sunday 9 th

October:Galata Museo del Mare  Submarine Nazario SauroThe culture and history of navigation will welcome the visitors of the show at the Galata Museo del Mare museum, where it is possible to personally experience the living conditions on board of a submarine by visiting the submarine Nazario Sauro, moored in front of the museum.  Visitors start their descent  by going down to the lower part of the submarine wearing a  safety  helmet and listening to an interactive audio guide, which automatically activates at specific points during the visit to provide information about life on board. A pre-show area on the third floor of the museum offers visitors some background information and allows them to get to know  some of the  instruments which are not accessible on board, due to safety or limited space reasons. This amazing experience continues on the third floor of the museum with the famous ocean crossing on steamships by Italian migrants going to America and  (as from 19 thOctober)  to Brazil and Argentina, with an outlook on contemporary emigration/immigration. Yachts Portraits – La Collezione Beppe Croce (Yachts Portraits – The Beppe Croce Collection)The museum hosts the area “Yachts Portraits  – La Collezione  Beppe Croce”,  reproducing  the atmosphere of an English Yacht Club of the late 19thcentury,  and  the life raft (donated by the family) on which  Italian  sailor  Ambrogio Fogar,  together with  journalist of  Italian  newspaper “La Nazione” Mauro Mancini, spent 74 days in 1978 after their boat, the Surprise, capsized in the Atlantic Ocean.
